The Sun-Kraft A1 sunlamp was a contactless mercury vapour glow gas discharge
sunlamp. In the discharge tube, the glow discharge was enforced by placing it in a
high frequency electromagnetic field, generated by an electronic oscillator. Due to the
lack of electrodes the lifetime of the tube was virtually unlimited as long as it was not
damaged mechanically. In this video, a fragment from a much longer promotion film
from 1946, the manufacturing of the discharge tube and the assembly of the
electronic circuit and the armature is shown.
