Junolux dull radiator
DULL-RADIATORS
A dull radiators consisted of a heat
resistant shell that housed an heating
element embedded in an electric isolator.
There are many different implementations
of dull radiators for therapeutic use. The
heating element often was a metal wire
made of Kanthal or Chromel, embedded
in sand or in asbestos like with the
Junolox element on display here. The
shell could be made of iron or aluminium.
The therapeutic effect of dull radiators
was mainly based on the common well
being caused by warmth.
