MINERAL-LAMPS
A mineral lamp was a dull radiator that
consisted of a metal- or ceramic plate,
coated with minerals and heated by a
separate electrical heat source. The
indirectly heated plate, emitted infrared
radiation in a range from 2 to 50
micrometers, which is in the middle- and
far infrared part of the electromagnetic
spectrum. Mineral lamps are claimed to
have emerged in China in the 1980s after
it was noticed that employees of a badly
maintained ceramic factory hardly
suffered from the humid environment they
had to work in. The assumed effect of
mineral lamps like the TDP Mineral Lamp CQ36 on display here, was contributed to
the complex composition of the applied minerals and should include every ailment that
profited from soothing warmth like chronic wounds, joint pain, back pain and so on.
