FALL-OVER-PROTECTION
The electric diagram is that of a PMC
Capri Super sunlamp, an AC operated
sunlamp with one quartz tube section
consisting of two quartz tubes, a double
glow ignition for AC operation and a
fall-over protection. A fall-over protection
consisted of a small glass tube, partly
filled with mercury. The mercury
connected two electrodes as long as the
tube stayed in a horizontal or backward
position but it disconnected as soon as
the sunlamp tilted over forward or to one
side.
